Screen Shot 2013-08-29 at 11.35.27 PMA college hockey fan turned hockey player, Krista decided to pursue a career in sports management after earning a degree in English from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell in 2009 and spending three years in journalism. After realizing she was meant to work in the hockey industry, Krista went to work in any press box she could get into. She kept statistics, wrote shot charts, tweeted and live-blogged her way to landing a job as an operations coordinator and marketing director at The Hockey Academy in Hudson, NH. As someone who did not start playing hockey until the age of 21, Krista prides herself on being an advocate for adult hockey players – especially adult women hockey players – and is inspired by the “weeknight warriors” who walk into the rink at 10 p.m. for their men’s league or women’s league game. A Bruins fan and River Hawks fan, Krista recently started playing goalie and loves every minute of it!
